ActivePlatform 7.6: Maximizing Security and Efficiency

Version 7.6 introduces support for multi-factor authentication in the Operator Control Panel, consolidated notifications about expiring subscriptions, revamped for higher performance analytics, and many UI improvements.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) protects sensitive data about your customers and their cloud service subscriptions. MFA adds an extra layer of security by requiring two forms of authentication for your managers in the Operator Control Panel. The first is a standard password, and the second is a temporary code generated by an authenticator app. They make it much harder for unauthorized people to access your data, even if they have a password.

MFA also protects the cloud brokerage platform from rogue employees or stolen credentials. By requiring two forms of authentication, MFA makes it much more difficult for someone to gain access to your data, even if they have a password and username.

Many people think security measures slow operations, but MFA is quick and easy to use. The platform allows every reseller of cloud services to choose the MFA mode: voluntary or mandatory. It means that you can introduce new security rules gradually. First, some of your managers set up their authenticator apps and start using MFA. Then, you can make MFA mandatory for all your managers. The platform will give them instructions on how to set up MFA the next time they log in.
Incorporating MFA into ActivePlatform is not just about security. It's about ensuring trust and operational efficiency. MFA is your shield, protecting your business and customers from potential threats.

Consolidated subscription expiration notifications

Combining all the notifications about postpaid subscriptions expiring on the same date into one email is a smart move that benefits your customers. Here's why:
  • It reduces email fatigue and makes it easier to spot important details. When your customers get separate emails for each expiring subscription, it can take time to keep track of everything. A single email makes it easier to see what's coming up and take action if needed.
  • It's more convenient for customers. Instead of checking multiple emails, customers can see all their expiring subscriptions in one place. Customizable notification templates make reviewing settings, checking renewal options, and adjusting the number of licenses easier.
  • It's less likely that something will be missed. When all the information is in one place, it's easier to ensure customers renew all the subscriptions they need.
For you as a reseller, whether you resell Office 365 or Google Workspace offerings, sending one email is also a more efficient way to speak with your customers. It reduces the work of sending multiple emails and makes sure customers get the information they need without feeling overwhelmed. This practice is good because it aligns with modern communication and data privacy standards.

High-performance analytics

Our self-service portal's "Analytics" section has been improved to make it faster and more reliable for customers. The new analytics engine can handle more data and complex subscriptions like Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud, so customers can quickly and easily get the information they need. Those with heavy consumption subscriptions will notice the difference immediately. The new "Analytics" is also more stable under high loads, so customers can be sure it will be available when needed.

Custom subscription names and sync with Microsoft

ActivePlatform allows sales managers and customers to give custom names for cloud service subscriptions. In the case of selling Microsoft products, these names are transferred to the Microsoft Partner Center. People who manage and monitor subscriptions will be delighted with that automation.

Custom subscription names make seeing and organizing subscriptions in ActivePlatform and the Microsoft Partner Center more comfortable. Users can give their subscriptions meaningful names that reflect their purpose, department, or other important information.

Custom names make it easier to work with the subscription list in the platform. They make finding and accessing specific subscriptions faster, especially with many subscriptions across different Microsoft cloud services. The sorting and filtering tools of the Customer Control Panel do a great job here.

Custom subscription names make it simpler to generate accurate reports. Managers and customers can be sure that the data in their reports is correct because it matches the purpose of the subscription. This accuracy is essential for financial reporting, budgeting, and auditing.

Transferring custom subscription names from ActivePlatform to the Microsoft Partner Center ensures that subscription management is consistent across both platforms. Managers don't have to do the same work twice or keep track of two different naming conventions, which makes things easier.

In addition, your managers can now migrate Microsoft Azure Plan subscriptions to the cloud service brokerage platform with their nicknames in Microsoft or with a shared name based on the plan in the platform.
