Vendor Portal 5.0: focus on multi-market sales and usability

MINSK, BELARUS – March 2, 2021: ActivePlatform, the market player in automated cloud service brokerage systems announced today that it launched a new 5.0 version of Vendor Portal, part of ActivePlatform platform for vendors willing to connect their IaaS and SaaS services to ActivePlatform marketplace and distribution network.
Vendor Portal 5.0: focus on multi-market sales and usability
Configure your products for multi-language and multi-currency markets using an even smoother workflow of the latest version of Vendor Portal.

Vendor Portal 5.0 supports a new approach to managing your products and distributors across different markets and countries. The latest version of Vendor Portal also includes numerous helpful improvements in the product configuration workflow.

New features in Vendor Portal 5.0
  • Multi-language and multi-currency products.
  • Copying products and service plans.
  • Manual provisioning mode
  • Multi-language and multi-currency products

Expand your international presence and offer your products in several languages with prices in local currencies:
  1. In the vendor profile, select the languages and currencies for your products.
  2. Use the individual descriptions for a product in the selected languages.
  3. For service plans of a product, add prices in any of the selected currencies.
  4. Pick the language and currency for every distributor in your distribution network.

As a result, the distributors will get the product in their specified languages and with prices in the corresponding currencies.
Copying the products and service plans
Create copies of your service plans and products to avoid repetitive manual operations.

For example, you want to sell different editions of your product, with minor differences in the description and available ranges of resources. Configure the first product, and then, instead of going through all the steps again, copy the product. A copy will have all descriptions, settings, and prices of the original. All you need now is to update the copy with actual data.

Manual provisioning mode
Select the manual provisioning mode for those of your products that do not use the API service for managing subscriptions. ActivePlatform will send email notifications on subscription events informing you when actions are required on the service side.
Improvements in Vendor Portal 5.0
Minor but time-saving changes in Vendor Portal 5.0:
  • The "Save & Continue" buttons in every section of the product configuration now will lead you smoothly through all the steps. You do not need more to return to the product dashboard or navigate the menu to go to the next step.
  • We reconsidered the approach to testing the API service on the vendor side. For the automatic provisioning mode, we reduced the number of checked endpoints to one. Vendor Portal now expects any successful response from the specified URL to consider the API service on the vendor side ready for integration.
  • Vendor Portal managers now receive email notifications on every product sent for moderation. The notifications allow accelerating the product moderation process and help you to publish your products faster.
  • In addition to that, you can now withdraw your product from moderation and resend it if the publishing process is not completed successfully for some reason. The feature may be helpful if the publishing process is stuck for any of the distributors in the product distribution network, so you can overcome the issue without involving the ActivePlatform support team.
