ActivePlatform follows Microsoft’s transition to GDAP

ActivePlatform offers customers a robust self-service portal with the ability to manage Microsoft licenses, users, and Azure roles. Since these actions require a high level of security against modern threats, they became a part of Microsoft's Zero Trust principles. To comply with Microsoft's new cybersecurity requirements, we added full support for Granular Delegated Admin Privileges (GDAP). It's a new standard for the partner's relationships with customers.
For convenience, ActivePlatform automatically configures GDAP and auto extends relationships between a partner and customers whenever possible. However, manual confirmation by the customer is required in the following cases:
  • When ordering the first Microsoft Azure Plan subscription for an existing domain.
  • When accessing the Service Management section, if the subscriptions were ordered before Microsoft introduced the GDAP requirements.
  • If previously granted GDAP have expired or were revoked.
By accepting the invitation, customers grant their Microsoft partner the time-limited minimally necessary privileges strictly for required actions with users and licenses.
ActivePlatform ensures the complexity of configuring GDAP remains hidden from customers. However, the process itself is transparent. Microsoft allows both parties to check their relationships within the GDAP model. Partners can view the existing admin relationships with their customers in the Microsoft Partner Center. Respectively, customers can use the Microsoft Admin Center to view and revoke relationships with their Microsoft partners. Additionally, Microsoft notifies the parties by email about every change in GDAP.
