ActivePlatform 5.0: Pay-as-you-go for VMware vCloud Director

March 23, 2021: ActivePlatform, the market player in automated cloud service brokerage systems, announced that it released a new 5.0 version of ActivePlatform with support of the usage-based billing of the VMware vCloud Director service. Meet also selling of Microsoft Perpetual Software in CSP and several UX improvements.

As a cloud service provider, you can now sell VMware vCloud Director using the pay-as-go model. Let your customers pay only for the resources they are using in their vDCs. The platform will collect precise consumption data and allow the customers to control their expenses with various analytics tools. We also added the full support of a new Microsoft CSP product, Microsoft Perpetual Software. As a Cloud Solution Provider, you can assist your customers through a smooth transition to the cloud by selling perpetual software licenses in addition to Microsoft Azure Plan and Microsoft Software Subscriptions.

To improve syncing third-party systems with the billing of the Microsoft CSP services mentioned above, we added a set of additional attributes in the charges information. ActivePlatform now stores the Microsoft IDs of corresponding orders, subscriptions, and resources so that you can get them via our API service.

For improving the user experience, the latest version of ActivePlatform got a few more updates:

• New managers that will work with the Operator Control Panel can now get emails with instructions on how to log in to the platform for the first time.
• Several small tweaks now help reseller's managers to configure the fees and limits of plan resources correctly with fewer efforts.
• Customers can now activate their overdue postpaid subscriptions by paying from the account balance, similar to using other payment methods.
• The charts of the "Analytics" section in the Customer Control Panel are optimized for displaying a large number of subscriptions and subscriptions with quite long titles.

All new features and improvements are available both in the on-premise and SaaS version of ActivePlatform.
